{"id":140,"date":"2016-10-05T21:22:29","date_gmt":"2016-10-06T01:22:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/faculty.sites.wfu.edu\/plemmons\/?page_id=140"},"modified":"2016-10-19T12:43:47","modified_gmt":"2016-10-19T16:43:47","slug":"wake-forest-university","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/faculty.sites.wfu.edu\/plemmons\/wake-forest-university","title":{"rendered":"Wake Forest University"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-160 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/faculty.sites.wfu.edu\/plemmons\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/42\/2016\/10\/WakeClassOfficers-e1476501546169.jpeg\" alt=\"wakeclassofficers\" width=\"392\" height=\"622\" \/>Bob Plemmons attended Wake Forest University from 1957-1961, on a <a href=\"https:\/\/faculty.sites.wfu.edu\/plemmons\/wake-forest-baseball\">baseball scholarship<\/a>. \u00a0He was signed by former Athletic Director Gene Hooks, who drove up to his home in Old Fort NC to recruit him. \u00a0He was also very committed to academics while at Wake. \u00a0Bob received several honors in academics during his years at WFU. He was also involved in Student Government, holding the office of Vice President of his class and a member of the Student Legislature. \u00a0He was a member of several honor societies while at Wake: Kappa Mu Epsilon (a national honorary mathematics fraternity), Omicron Delta Kappa (a national honorary leadership society), Who&#8217;s Who (recognition of college students who have been outstanding in college life), and Phi Beta Kappa (a nationwide society honoring college students for the excellence and breadth of their scholarly accomplishments.) Bob was also chosen as the <a href=\"https:\/\/faculty.sites.wfu.edu\/plemmons\/wfus-acc-scholar-athlete-of-the-year-1960-61\">WFU ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, for 1960-61<\/a>.
